I can't believe what these guys can get away with eating. Waffles all the time...with ice cream....and then more ice cream for snacks! Dang, I guess when you are able to train at that level, you can get away with it...

Are each of these athletes over in Europe on their Sponsor's dime or is it really that easy to go over there and "bum" around while training and racing? It seems like there are a lot more athletes over there from the US.

For all that nike has done in eugene, the supposed revitalization of track and field in the united states, i would choose flotrack over it all in a second. thanks again for providing some of the most interesting coverage of our sport. you guys are responsible for my falling in love with track all over again.
Kim Gevaert is the superstar of Belgian athletics (double eurochamp in 06). Check out the crowd in Heusden this Sunday when she races. They go nuts! Try to imagine what it's like when she races a pacekd 50.000 Brussels Golden League stadium...

At about 5 min. in, it looks like Huddle is about to catch an over the shoulder football pass when she runs and looks over her shoulder. Also, throw Kim Gaevert in the 800, see what she can do, it will definitely draw a crowd.
The Track in Leuven is the training ground for the Americans, like Alan Webb and Amy Mortimer, The Kiwis, Irish and Belgium. It is quite a site to see all these athletes working out on a 6 lane track that has huge curves with hardly any straight aways. It is normal to see the athletes that are not working out to just hang out around the track just to watch the workout or pick up a watch and help time one. Check out the video and see what I mean.
