I'm disappointed that she's not on the team because she's such a great person, a great athlete, and such a great representative for the US, but her grace and toughness in the face of her medical problems is really inspiring. There are lots of track fans rooting for her future success.

I agree with the other posters -- I'd love to have her as a TV commentator when that fits in with her running career.

MnPride...what the hell do you think a 31-year-old should look like? Gray hair and a walker? Jeez, I'm 33 and look no older than her.

Great thinking of the future Carrie. I'd love to see her on tv. PLEASE PLEASE go to NBC or otherwise and give distance running commentating a real voice.

Mark, thanks for bringing us this. I think it's one of the best interviews you've posted.

Carrie, lots of runners seem like classy competitors when everything is going right, but it's during the tough periods that athletes show what they're made of. Keep it up, and I'm sure that you will have a lot more success in your future.

she looks really young for 31. I hope she makes Berlin and makes those short term goals, and maybe even London 2012.

I'm going to be running at Augsburg College in Minneapolis next year and when I went on a campus visit last year I actually met her. She was cool to talk to. I hope I get to see her again. Go Carrie! You're amazing! You represent Minnesota well!

You did do a great job on TV interviewing....Danskins Running and Racing? I think...or one of the races.
Great job at everything you do.

Sorry that Carrie had to go through so much pain to get a great quote, but I loved the quote, "That's what we as runners are, you know, we put ourselves out there out there, and we try our very best, and sometimes it's our day and sometimes it isn't." Also, it was gracious of her to a) grant an interview 24 hours after not qualifying for the Olympics and b) tip her hat to Track & Field fans.

Really, really important interview, I think it's significant for aspiring runners to see what the disappointments can be like; how to handle them and *start again.*
